Symmetry conditions for the superconducting diode effect in chiral superconductors

We analyze the presence of non-reciprocal critical currents, so-called superconducting diode effect, in chiral superconductors within a generalized Ginzburg-Landau framework. After deriving its key symmetry conditions we illustrate basic mechanism for two examples, current thin film and Josephson junction. The appearance spontaneous edge currents energy bias formation vortices play an essential part establishing splitting running opposite directions. Eventually, this allows us to interpret effect observed 3-Kelvin phase Sr$_2$RuO$_4$ as evidence spontaneously broken time-reversal phase.
